Peanut Sriracha Sauce

Peanut Sriracha Sauce in a small white bowl pinit

Sometimes a meal just needs sauce to enhance the flavor. This peanut sriracha sauce not only saves you time and food waste, but also helps you save money. Which is even more important with the rising cost of groceries.

Today, in this post, I’ll show you how to use the last of your peanut butter in the jar to make peanut sauce. A bonus is you don’t need any other dishes besides measuring spoons!

What You Need

To make a spicy peanut sriracha sauce you’ll only need a few ingredients. Luckyily they are common things you might already have in your fridge and pantry so you won’t have to go buy any additional groceries.

Peanut Butter: The most important ingredient for this recipe. I like to use a nearly empty peanut butter jar to reduce waste and the cost of food to make this recipe. You just need the remaining peanutbutter when you start to have to scrape to get a good spoonful.

Sriracha: What makes it spicy! It gives the recipe a chili spicy instead of hot hot hot. You don’t want to leave this ingredient out. If you like it reallllly spicy you can add more. Or if you like it less spicy you can add less.

Soy Sauce: For sodium concerns you can use a light soy sauce bottle or to save even more money you can buy a regular bottle and water it down at home to double the amount of one bottle.

Rice Wine Vinegar: or rice vinegar, they are the same thing. If you don’t have this on hand you could use apple cider vinegar or white vinegar instead.

Lime: For this recipe I had a small lime and used the juice from the whole thing to add more flavor.

Variations

There are many variations that can be done when making this recipe. It’s a simple sauce that can be made by using pantry ingredients. If you don’t have one of the ingredients you can likely swap it out using the tips from above.

Can I make this sauce with a different nut butter?

Yes! you can use any type of nut butter to make this recipe. It will drastically change the flavor so make sure you pick a nut you like!

Gluten-free options?

You can make gluten free Peanut Sriracha Sauce depending on the type of soy sauce you use. Some soy sauce have wheat added so it’s best to check the ingredient label or use an alternative like tamari or coconut aminos.
